A COMPLETE, NEXT-GENERATION DIAGNOSTIC SOLUTION
Automated Refraction and Visual Field Exams in a Single Medical-Grade Headset
Automated Refraction Exam Features & Specifications
The XO Exam™ System provides three automated refraction tests (Digital Phoropter, Wavefront Aberrometry, and Retinoscopy) with greater accuracy, speed, and patient comfort than conventional optical exam equipment.
For patients, that means greater access to the highest level of vision care available no matter where they are in the world. For practitioners, that means increased patient volume and practice growth without sacrificing the quality of care provided.
Digital Phoropter
The XO Exam™ System revolutionizes refractive error measurement with our cutting-edge liquid-lens technology, surpassing modern digital phoropters by delivering real-time, accurate optical power and a broad view.
With the user-friendly XO Remote, patients can swiftly navigate lens options, assess their vision, and offer feedback, enhancing precision and shortening test duration.
Wavefront Aberrometry
XO Exam™ offers precise Wavefront Aberrometry to measure how light traverses the eye. The detailed measurements of the movement of the light wavefront are a critical tool in diagnosing low-order refractive errors like nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and higher-order and refractive errors.
Higher-order errors refer to conditions that include complex visual defects such as coma, spherical aberration, and trefoil. These aberrations can cause difficulty seeing at night, glare, halos, blurring, starburst patterns, or double vision (diplopia).
Retinoscopy
The XO Exam™ System delivers precise retinoscopy to identify refractive errors, diagnosing conditions like emmetropia, myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism.
Unlike conventional retinoscopy, which requires a darkened room, XO Exam™ operates efficiently in any office lighting. Once set up by the technician, patients can self-test using the XO Remote, freeing up technicians to assist other patients.

Visual Field Exam Features & Specifications
The XO Exam™ System provides seven different visual field diagnostic tests and critical pupillary measurements with greater accuracy, speed, and patient comfort than conventional optical exam equipment.
For patients, our XO Exam™ System means greater access to the highest level of vision care available. For eye care professionals, our XO Exam™ System means increased patient volume, exam lane flow, and practice growth without sacrificing the high lelel care you provide.
Visual Field
The XO Exam™ System offers complete Visual Field exam and testing (10-2, 24-2, 24-2C, 30-2), meeting Goldmann Perimetry Standards: Size – I, II, III, IV, V, and Swedish Interactive Threshold Algorithm (SITA equivalent) Faster, the most recent and fastest testing algorithm for the evaluation of Humphrey visual fields (VF).
Visual Acuity
XO Exam™ allows you to perform Visual Acuity testing to determine the smallest letters the patient can read by presenting a standardized Snellen chart, virtually simulated at 20 feet (6 meters) away. XO Exam™ allows the performance of this test rapidly and efficiently, maximizing patient comfort.
Color Vision Deficiency (CVD)
XO Exam™ provides quantitative and comprehensive Color Vision Deficiency testing using Ishihara, Farnsworth D-15, Cambridge, Farmsworth Munsell 100, and more methods for a detailed analysis of color blindness and the patient’s ability to perceive colors accurately.
Confrontation Visual Field
XO Exam™ provides quantitative and comprehensive Color Vision Deficiency testing using Ishihara, Farnsworth D-15, Cambridge, Farmsworth Munsell 100, and more methods for a detailed analysis of color blindness and the patient’s ability to perceive colors accurately.
Binocular Humphrey Esterman Visual Field (EVFT)
The XO Exam™ System provides Goldmann-standard Binocular Humphrey Esterman Visual Field (EVFT) testing to aid in the accurate diagnosis of glaucoma. XO Exam provides controllable suprathreshold light intensity as low as 50 dB and fields as wide as 130°.
Contrast Sensitivity
The XO Exam™ System offers precise contrast sensitivity testing, a vital metric for real-world vision. This test assesses a patient’s ability to discern varying light-dark contrasts, especially critical in low light, fog, or glare situations, such as night driving.
Extraocular Motility (EOM)
Utilizing advanced eye-tracking technology, the XO Exam™ System precisely tests Extraocular Motility (EOM), assessing the six extraocular muscles in each eye. This can detect muscle imbalances, neurological issues, and conditions like amblyopia, strabismus, or Diabetes Mellitus. Our system offers superior diagnostic accuracy and efficient documentation compared to traditional methods.
